Pinehurst, North Carolina may be famous for being one of the golf capitals of the world, but there is a little place in town that has made a name of its own.  Located on the Pinehurst Harness Track, Real “Coco” and Tracy Cormier have owned the Pinehurst Track Restaurant for 22 years. The Track was opened in 1915 as a training center for horses in the winter months which was what brought the Cormiers to town in the first place. Coco was a French-Canadian harness racer, his wife, Tracy, a fashion buyer from New York, would come down to Pinehurst in the winters to train horses. When the restaurant was up for sale they saw it as an opportunity and took it, creating a business and a permanent home for their family. It is all family run, with Tracy’s brother, Glenn, being the restaurant manager and go-to sports trivia enthusiast. This little hidden gem has become a local favorite and even brings in famous golfers, baseball players, and other athletes. Known for their blueberry pancakes (which have been rated third in the country by the Golf Channel), this mom n’ pop style restaurant keeps their food simple yet delicious, serving breakfast and lunch six days a week.
